The complete standard package

A custom book for $200 total.

A complete production package for authors with finished text who need a professionally designed, illustrated, publish-ready book at one clear price: a $100 deposit after scope approval and $100 after final approval.

Best for: self-publishing authors with a short children’s manuscript who want direct, one-to-one help and do not want to manage illustration, layout, print-file setup, and KDP production alone.

What you receive

The essential creative and production work, together.

The cover, interior pages, illustrations, typography, revisions, and publishing files are developed as one coordinated book around your text.

01

Cover

A custom front-cover design plus the final print-ready paperback cover file required for the chosen trim size and page count.

02

Interior

A manuscript-fit page plan with coordinated typography, page flow, and image placement. The final print count and illustration coverage are confirmed after manuscript review.

03

Visuals

Toby selects, art-directs, edits, and coordinates AI-generated or AI-assisted imagery for the approved book direction. The workflow is disclosed openly, including accurate KDP disclosure when required.

04

Revisions

Corrections and revisions through final approval while the project remains within the agreed concept and scope.

05

Files

Final print-ready paperback files and an ebook file when that format is appropriate for the project.

06

KDP support

Upload guidance, accurate AI-content disclosure guidance, file corrections, and resubmission support.

Preserving a memory for your children or grandchildren? See the family-story book path. Preparing files yourself? Use the KDP children’s-book formatting and preflight guide.

The standard scope

Clear scope keeps the process simple.

Page count follows the manuscript rather than a fixed 32-page rule. Shorter and longer books are welcome; the final designed interior and illustration coverage are agreed after Toby reviews the manuscript, pacing, and visual complexity. The cover is separate.

Comparing another quote? Use the children’s book illustration cost guide to compare art-only and complete-book pricing.

Preparing to share the project? The free fillable illustrator brief organizes the reader, characters, visual direction, page turns, rights, deliverables, and feedback before production begins.

  • Client supplies final, proofread text
  • Manuscript-fit page plan; cover is separate
  • One trim size and one paperback edition
  • One approved visual direction
  • Artist-directed AI-assisted production
  • Normal corrections and revisions within scope

Style approval + revisions included

Approve the look before the full book is built.

You approve one visual direction and its important character rules before complete-page production begins. After the book is assembled, revisions are included for text corrections, image adjustments, layout refinements, and reasonable changes that remain inside that approved direction.

A revision changes the approved book.A new concept, new manuscript, expanded page count, or replacement of the approved visual direction is a new scope.

For compliant titles

Amazon Listing Guarantee*

I stay with correctable KDP production-file issues until the title is accepted and live.

For a compliant title and a client KDP account in good standing, I correct and resubmit correctable cover or interior production-file issues—such as trim, bleed, cover dimensions, embedded fonts, or export settings—at no additional charge until the title is accepted and live.

The client must own or have permission to publish every manuscript, image, trademark, name, and other submitted item. The client controls the KDP account; I never ask for a KDP password, tax information, bank information, or account credentials.

The guarantee does not claim control over Amazon. Amazon controls content, metadata, rights, identity and account status, policy compliance, acceptance, distribution, suppression, and continued availability. The guarantee does not cover later client changes, policy changes after delivery, account suspension, rights disputes, prohibited content, or material outside the agreed project.

Project sequence

What happens after you say yes.

  1. 1

    Free sample direction

You share your thoughts, audience, and references. I reply with one exploratory mood, character, or page approach to check fit—not finished publication artwork.

  2. 2

    $100 deposit

A fixed $100 deposit reserves production time after the direction, scope, and expectations are confirmed in writing.

  3. 3

    Approve the book direction

You refine and approve the style and visual rules before full-page production begins.

  4. 4

    Complete-book review

You receive the assembled book, then corrections and within-scope revisions are completed.

  5. 5

    Final balance and publishing

The remaining $100 is due at final approval before final production files are released, followed by KDP listing support.
