KDP upload settings
Choose trim size 8.5" x 8.5". Choose Yes for bleed. For a 32-page color paperback, choose Premium Color.
The app privately creates one cover PDF and one interior PDF in this browser. No manuscript or artwork is uploaded during export.
Choose trim size 8.5" x 8.5", bleed Yes, and do not add crop marks. Browser PDFs use RGB color; order a printed proof because KDP converts print colors.
On the cover, Safe guides reserve KDP's 2" x 1.2" barcode box on the lower-right back cover. Keep text and essential artwork outside it.
Freehand Paint uses a 200 PPI working canvas and is resampled during PDF export. Review those pages closely and order a printed proof.
